The Value of Recovery

Some of the hardest training I do is in the Recovery process. Massage, acupuncture, chiropractor, cold water dousing and fasting are a staple of my personal recovery routines. Daily mindfulness and prayer are also a big part of my mental health routine. Needless to say, it is ‘active’ recovery.
I know … I know … Power is so sexy, recovery not so much. Many times we are on the road to recovery only to easily step off the path and become trapped in a cycle of ‘over-train’ syndrome. Beating our bodies up for no good benefit.
We all must focus on active recovery so that we don’t destroy ourselves with the hardship and pain of work, life, and training. It’s a very difficult balance, recovery, and power but Systema training can help you find this balance.
